WHY WE STARTED

WE STARTED PROBLK HEALTH AS PART OF OUR PASSION AS A COUPLE TO SUPPORT AND GIVE BACK TO THE BLACK COMMUNITY. DR. KARLEENA TUGGLE-MCDANIEL (HOWARD UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF MEDICINE GRADUATE) BEING A DOCTOR, KNOWS FIRST-HAND THE SIGNIFICANT HEALTH DISPARITIES WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY. DARIAN MCDANIEL (MOREHOUSE GRADUATE) BEING A VETERAN C-LEVEL MARKETING EXECUTIVE UNDERSTANDS THE IMPORTANCE OF TARGETED STRATEGIES TO GROW AND CULTIVATE HEALTH-CONSCIOUS MESSAGING IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE TOOK THESE SKILL SETS AND STARTED A MOVEMENT PROMOTING HEALTH AND HEALING IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY. OUR PRIMARY FOCUS IS PROMOTING THE HEALTHY CONDITION OF OUR BODIES, MINDS, SPIRITS, AND RELATIONSHIPS.

Our Mission

THE DEFINITION OF HEALTH IS “THE CONDITION OF BEING SOUND IN BODY, MIND, OR SPIRIT”. WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE HEALTH OF INDIVIDUALS AND THE OVERALL HEALTH OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY. OUR GOAL IS TO PURPOSEFULLY CONTRIBUTE 50% OF OUR NET PROFITS TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND INITIATIVES THAT FOCUS ON SUPPORTING AND IMPROVING VARIOUS ASPECTS OF HEALTH AND HEALING WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY.

WE FEEL THAT GENERAL DONATIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS ARE HELPFUL, BUT OFTEN DO NOT CLEARLY MANIFEST INTO A MEASURABLE RESULT. BY PARTNERING WITH GROUPS THAT HAVE DEFINITIVE MISSIONS, WE FIND IT MORE BENEFICIAL TO DONATE BASED ON PARTICULAR GOALS THAT ARE CAREFULLY PLANNED AND EXECUTED BY THE ORGANIZATIONS. THIS ALLOWS US TO BETTER ASSESS THE PROGRESS AND EVALUATE ITS POSITIVE EFFECT ON OUR COMMUNITY. IT ALSO ENABLES US TO KEEP YOU INFORMED OF EXACTLY HOW YOUR PURCHASE GAVE BACK TO THE CAUSE OF BLACK HEALTH.
